Elevate Rapid City is a new and innovative approach to economic development for Rapid City and the Black Hills region. A true public/private partnership, Elevate Rapid City represents the first time in our history that four of the leading private sector economic development organizations have united under a joint partnership agreement in order to lead strategic economic growth and development according to a collective vision and shared plan vetted by more than 100 community leaders.

Based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation developed 1 Million Cups in 2012—a free program designed to educate, engage and inspire entrepreneurs around the country. Through the power of volunteers, 1 Million Cups has grown to more than 160 communities.

Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event designed for designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and experts of all stripes. The weekend events are centered on action, innovation, and education in an encouraging environment where you fail fast to find success sooner. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through testing, business model development, and prototype creation, it'll culminate in Sunday night demos to a panel of potential investors and entrepreneurs.

The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) program is a one-stop-shop for service members, veterans and military spouses looking to start, purchase, or grow a business. Located nationwide, VBOCs provide training workshops, including Boots to Business and Boots to Business Reboot, as well as business development assistance such as training, advising and mentoring, and resource referrals.
